Unlike conventional tutoring centered only on homework completion, Obsidian is built around intellectual training. Our work focuses on developing the habits of mind that drive long-term academic success: reasoning, clarity, argumentation, discipline, and confidence. Obsidian Solutions is built around four central areas of intellectual development:
Analytical Writing
Students learn to structure essays, develop defensible claims, integrate evidence, and communicate ideas with greater clarity and precision. Coaching emphasizes organization, analytical depth, revision, and the transferable writing skills needed for increasingly rigorous academic work.
Debate & Argumentation
Students develop persuasive speaking, structured argumentation, critical listening, and confident verbal communication. Training can include case construction, rebuttal, questioning, evidence use, rhetorical strategy, and competitive debate skills tailored to each student’s experience and goals.
Elementary Acceleration/Remediation
Elementary learners receive targeted, developmentally appropriate support designed to strengthen foundational skills while building confidence and independence. Instruction may address reading, writing, mathematics, comprehension, academic habits, or advanced enrichment based on each student’s individual needs.
Admissions Writing & Matriculation
Students and applicants receive strategic support with personal statements, application essays, supplemental responses, and other admissions writing. Services include live coaching, developmental feedback, and professional editorial review designed to strengthen clarity, structure, reflection, and impact while preserving the writer’s authentic voice.
Institutional partnerships are also available for schools, counselors, and education organizations seeking asynchronous admissions-writing review and editorial support.
